Day 7

February 2, 2012 under Uncategorized

Sorry I forgot to publish on my final day, but overall I saw a loss of about one pound per day. Since then I have been trying to embed more healthier habits into my daily routine. I am cutting back on the amount of carbs I am eating by maybe having one or two veggie dishes per day rather than having multiple servings of bread or rice in the same day.

Over the weekend I did make some amazing spaghetti squash the recipe was called spaghetti squash primavera and contained just a mixture of other veggies and I used two spaghetti squashes and it made a very good quantity. I may make a butternut squash dish next week….lets see.

GM diet day 5 and 6

January 29, 2012 under Uncategorized

Its coming to the closure of day six but during day five I was not feeling so well. During day five you are allowed to eat meat particularly beef so I made up some hamburger patties to have that. I dont know if it was just my body not having the meat for several days and then when I did have it caused me to not feel too great or maybe my portion of meat was too large. Anyhow I felt much better today and only had one serving of meat.

I feel it is much more difficult to stick with a diet on the weekend because my routine is all off schedule and damn do you know how many pizza commercials I saw???? However, I have stayed strong with this diet plan the entire time and I plan to bring in success. I have only one day left which is day seven and I am looking forward to being able to have some brown rice tomorrow. My sweetheart makes some awesome brown rice with veggies in it.

GM diet day 3 and 4

January 27, 2012 under Uncategorized

So, I have been very successful so far during day three of the diet it consisted only of fruits and veggies which worked out great for me because I like to have veggies for lunch or dinner and I love to snack on fruits.

Day four was a strange combo, of eating milk, bananas, and soup. My day four schedule looked like this:
8am – sliced banana in a bowl of milk
11am- banana and milk smoothie
1pm – bowl of cabbage soup
4pm – banana
7pm – bowl of cabbage soup

GM Diet Day 2

January 25, 2012 under Uncategorized

So today was a veggie day, and NO I have not yet weighed myself but I plan to do that on Wednesday morning just to get an idea of where I am headed. I did not deviate from my ‘veggies only’ but I did have mostly cooked veggies and I think they wanted you to have more of the raw veggies but here is what my schedule looked like:

Day 2
8am – Baked Potato w/ Butter
11am – Cherry Tomatoes as a snack
1pm – 2 Cups of cooked cabbage & bellpepper w/indian spices
4pm – Cucumber as a snack
7pm – More of my cooked cabbage & bellpepper

So how do I feel? Right now I feel satisfied I did have some cravings when I saw other people in the lunch room eating Burger King & McDonalds (although i never even go there anymore) but because i am limiting myself so much the cravings for those kicked into overdrive.

Anyhow, tomorrow is another day but not too bad since it will be a combo of fruits & veggies.

The GM Diet

January 24, 2012 under Uncategorized

So, the GM diet is kind of a new experience for me. I did it about two months ago and I did see the average loss of about one pound per day on a seven day diet without exercising, but it is very limited on what foods you can eat on certain days. If you are interested in checking out this diet visit a href=http://www.gmdietworks.comGM Diet Works/a.

Ugh, I weighed myself today after a long weekend of indulging in food and I had fluctuated up to 134lbs. So, I plan to start strong by doing this GM diet to bring myself down to a more healthier weight.

Today is day 1…. Day one is all fruits allowed but no bananas.
This is what I did:
8am- bowl of fruits (cantaloupe, blueberries, grapes, strawberries) with 2 glasses of water
11am- apple with two glasses of water
1pm – bowl of fruits as earlier with 2 glasses of water
4pm – apple and orange with 2 glasses of water
7pm – bowl of fruits with 2 glasses of water.

In the morning I did some light exercise for 30 minutes. Tomorrow is going to be an all vegetable day…

My Return

January 14, 2012 under Uncategorized

Looks like we are back to a new year and once again I am inspired. In fact I knew I had my blog here sitting idle for some long time now but my coworker Jenn mentioned that she was working on her blog and it sparked interest for me to become more active again.

I would say that 2011 was a weight rollercoaster for me but at the end of it all I started back the beginning of the year @ 129lbs.

Since then I have gone to Las Vegas had a ton of yummy food and havent yet gotten back into the swing of things as far as getting motivated to start working out again. But, that is the end of that I am already scheduled to start back at my Sunday morning body combat class that is a real kick ass workout.

Today is already the 14th and I can feel myself failing from losing already but that is not the way it should be. I want to be at 125 by the end of this month, lets make that happen. Even if I have to do another one of those short term diets and then do whatever it takes to maintain that weight.

Beautiful Blue Waters

May 24, 2011 under Uncategorized

I titled it this way because this is what I remember. My 5 night stay in Mexico was pretty amazing in more ways than one. My trip started out rocky with having a cancelled flight and then getting into Cancun @ near midnight to an almost vacant airport and being limited on transportation options. Let me just tell you taxis out there are a huge rip off! They tried to get us for $90 to go 12 miles. Crazy tourists markups. We stayed in the Ocean Turquesa resort which was very nice and had some wonderful foods. I loved it maybe a little too much…maybe all the alcohol from the swim up bar was a little more than necessary but hey … I had NO hangovers or sickness I definitely kept aware of what I was getting myself into with the alcohol, but the food now that was another story.

Anyhow, we enjoyed a lot of fun experiences like Snorkeling in Puerto Morellos, Going on the Zip Lines, Driving ATVs, Swimming in 3 different Cenotes, Visiting Chichen Itza. I have another set of plans which I am already ready to go back and execute! Who wants to do a girls trip with me? Im totally down for it! Sharing my pics…so share some love.

Too Much Indulgence

March 31, 2011 under Uncategorized

Caution for KristaSo first off it was My B day this week and… unfortunately it was not just one day of celebrating. Which meant… lots of bad choices. Saturday went out to a nice little Mexican restaurant, and yeah the food was great. Had a birthday cake I shared with my friends but still had cake leftovers so you know that meant more for later which I couldn’t refuse.

Afterward we went out to a club and had a few drinks, of course I am more okay limiting myself in the alcoholic beverage area but it was my birthday so I did choose to have two of them. Next thing you know its 4AM and we are sitting @ Dennys having a breakfast!

Sunday is followed up by some leftover cake eating and other yummy things that I cannot even remember. Then on Monday @ work they did this to my desk and also brought a cake in for me at work. I’m sick and tired of cake now from all of it this week! Infact after that crazy weekend of running all around I got sick, haven’t been to the gym this whole week then when I went back to work today they bought Pizza. I mean really who can turn down free pizza to eat their eggplant soup they packed for lunch? Wasn’t me today. But I know I will be paying for it later.

I cannot be a cry baby about it though I just have to suck it up and move on because I had a great time, and spent it with great people.

About Cholesterol

March 23, 2011 under Fun Finds, Uncategorized

Previously I never really thought about this because it was not something that had taken effect on me, however many people have a high cholesterol problem. But, what exactly is Cholesterol and its dangers? It is a type of fat that our bodies need but when you have high cholesterol levels it is dangerous. Basically it is a condition which can lead to heart attack, stroke and other major health issues. Higher levels of cholesterol can create blockage in your arteries and other diseases that you may have such as diabetes can cause an increased about of cholesterol. But, through diet and exercise you can reduce your cholesterol levels to help prevent some of it’s related problems. There are foods to lower cholesterol.  I found it interesting to learn that nuts are a great way to help you lower yours! I usually eat a serving of almonds or pistachios each day so I hope I am on my way to a healthier heart. Both of my grandparents have been in and out of the hospital for heart work, so I know that its a possible hereditary issue in the future for me.

Lunchbox

Whats In My Lunchbox?

March 22, 2011 under Uncategorized

Lunchbox

So I have gone ahead and pre-packed my lunch for tomorrow like I usually do. I feel like I do best on my healthy eating habits when I am at work because I can only eat what I take. I have not very many other food distractions in my office so I think I am lucky there. Anyhow here’s what is on the list:

1. Banana (I usually have this as a mid-morning snack)

2. Pistachios (approx. 30 which I munch on throughout the day when I feel hungry)

3. Chicken & Veggie Stew (I’m guessing about a cup and a half this was something that I made myself so I am confident its pretty healthy)

4. Mixed fresh fruits (Tomorrow its strawberry & pineapple I usually have this during the last two hours of work.)

I have been finding it most successful for me to have small things throughout the day since I may be an ‘emotional’ eater. Therefore when I am at work and I am feeling frustrated over an issue I can walk away for 10 minutes and go pull out one of these more healthier options and then when I am out of food… I am out of options. Keep it simple and you will succeed.
