Smoothie Love: Natures Bounty Protein Shake
I personally love smoothies. In the past I never use to use protein powder but it really helps thicken and enhance my smoothies in more ways than one. When I work out in the mornings I usually do cardio and then I grab a smoothie afterwards. Previously I was just putting in 1 scoop of my boyfriends protein powder that he had but he would always buy ‘unflavored’ and I thought I wanted to try a protein powder that had a little more flavor to it.
So, I got on Amazon and did some looking around, and I came across this vanilla flavored natures bounty protein powder which was more aimed toward women. It already had some variety of vitamins in it, plus it said it was good for hair, nails, and skin. Again, I didn’t buy it for all the added values I pretty much bought it because the price was right, it had a pink label, and it had a flavor plus it is a PRIME item. That was good enough marketing for me.
Once, I received the product using my Amazon Prime membership (only took me 2 days to get it) I decided to whip up a smoothie. Upon first taste I could tell it was a little too sweet because it does have Stevia in it. Stevia is great because it is more of a natural sweetener rather than these artificial sweeteners. However, Stevia does have a taste that stands out, so I simply modified my smoothie recipe and cut back to just using one heaping scoop of the natures bounty protein powder in my smoothie and then it tasted fantastic.
Whats in my typical morning smoothie?
– 1 handful of spinach
– few pieces of ice
– 1/2 cup milk
– 1/2 banana
– 3 strawberries
– few pieces papaya
– few blueberries
– 1 heaping scoop of Nature’s Bounty Vanilla Protein Powder
So – after my first finishing my first container of natures bounty protein, I decided to purchase this again because it really did the unexpected for me. Not, only did it improve my smoothies but I noticed a significant difference in the hardness of my fingernails and the growth rate of my nails. I feel like I can use my fingernails as little tools now, they are not breaking and flaking, and I have to constantly trim them.
Because of the improvement in my nails I decided to take some time out of my day today for some ‘girl-time’ and I went and got a mani-pedi at this little posh salon. The guy even complimented me on my natural nail. In the past I would get no-chip manis because I felt like they helped make my nails seem stronger, but now I’m just back to regular ole polish. Although regular polish only last about 1-2 days before chipping but its going to help keep my nails more healthy.
Overall I highly recommend if you are a chic who loves smoothies and wants to enhance the flavor of yours and get some added proteins and vitamins go with Natures Bounty Protein …. it is a fraction of the price of that Shakeology stuff that Beach Body sells and is equally just as tasty.
