This is my weight loss story. My mom died in Dec 2010 very suddenly. After that I began to use food as a coping mechanism. Now I wasn’t small then but I gained so much more weight from 2010 to 2013. I kept getting sick and having to go to the Dr. Couldn’t fit any clothes. Finally I went to the Dr and they weighed me. I was 192.6!!! I was shocked. That very day I went to Walmart, bought a scale for at home and joined weight watchers online with a goal of losing 60 pounds.

Didn’t know how I was going to do it. I went to the grocery store and bought only fruits and vegetables. I also started to do something that I have always wanted to do which is run. That night I made my lunch and the next day I went out to learn how to run using the all on my phone C25k that I heard about before. This was March or May of 2013. It took me 9 months to lose 60 pounds. I was consistent with my running and eating healthy.

I slip up sometimes but now I don’t get mad at myself if I have a bad meal one day. I don’t go to fast food places and barely go to restaurants. I only drink water and everyday I do some form of exercise. I am now a team beach body coach and am doing the 21 day fix. While on my journey I have learned how to eat healthy, I have also learned that I can do anything I put my mind to! I love to exercise and when I skip a day I feel lost. This was not an easy journey by any means but it is so worth it. I will be on this journey for a lifetime! I am no longer a slave to the scale. I used to weigh myself weekly then it was daily. I still own a scale however I don’t weigh myself. I just live. Eat healthy and exercise daily.
